Initial Consultation & Examinations

At your first visit, you will be asked to fill in a medical history form, which will be updated periodically. This will help us understand a little about you, your dental needs, and how to best treat you. A comprehensive examination of your whole mouth will be carried out. This will usually involve:

• Examination of your teeth with charting
• Soft tissue examination including cancer check
• Digital x-rays to check between the teeth and under current fillings
• We sometimes need to also take moulds of your teeth for
treatment planning

At these appointments, we can come up with a treatment plan, and organise treatment visits that suit you. We welcome all questions, as this is the only way to make sure we treat you to the best of our ability, with the results you are after. We can offer different options for different results according to your lifestyle.

Oral Hygiene

Complete Dental Care’s team of oral care technicians provide oral hygiene and preventative care. Dental hygiene is important for several reasons:

• Clean teeth and healthy gums lead to a healthier lifestyle and can minimise other diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
• Clean teeth usually mean less dental work needs to be done
• Fresh, clean breath
• Regular brushing (twice daily), as well as flossing or the use of
Piksters, is recommended

As your local dentists in Blackwood and Daw Park, we’re proud of the results our cosmetic procedures produce. Get the confidence that comes with a beautiful smile today.

A sealant that is placed over deep grooves and pits of back teeth to help prevent decay.

Teeth Fillings

A filling restores a tooth that has decayed, broken or cracked back to function. We generally use tooth coloured resin fillings. Other filling materials include porcelain, gold, and amalgam.

Mouthguards

Anyone playing sport should wear a mouth guard to try and prevent injuries to the teeth from a collision, knock, hit or fall during a game or practice. These come in any colour or even multiple colours, including colours of all AFL teams.

Nightguards

If you grind or clench your teeth during sleep, a night guard is worn over either the upper or lower teeth, can help protect the teeth from wearing down, chipping, or fracture. A night guard can also minimise tension headaches.
