What is a root canal?

Root canal therapy, also known as endodontic treatment, is aimed at saving and retaining teeth that are infected or decaying. The soft pulp inside the tooth is delicate, and when it’s infected, it can kill your entire tooth. With a root canal, we’ll save your tooth so that you don’t need an implant. Our dentists will examine the tooth thoroughly before performing the root canal treatment.

What can I expect?

During the procedure, we’ll numb the area so that you don’t feel anything, and then we’ll make a tiny hole in your tooth. We’ll pull the diseased pulp out of the hole and disinfect the area to prevent further issues. After that, we’ll fill the void and put a crown over the tooth. You may have mild sensitivity for a few days, but you shouldn’t have any pain in the tooth anymore.

  I have been seeing Dr George K for over 5 years now. He has completed my clear correct and regular check ups to maintain my smile.
He is diligent, demonstrates attention to detail and enjoys explaining exactly what he is doing and answering all your questions with patience and clarity. The staff at the business are also lovely and so kind. I have encouraged my whole my family to see Dr George and only heard good reports. I highly recommend this practise.

  I had a great experience at Complete Dental Blackwood after I broke a tooth. I saw Paul, and he was very professional, friendly and reassuring throughout the appointment. He explained everything clearly and made me feel completely at ease. The whole experience was smooth and comfortable, and I was very happy with the care I received.   I'm very cautious about having dental treatment.  When I was looking for a new dentist after my regular one retired, a friend recommended me to Complete Dental Care in Blackwood.  I have been several times now and am totally happy with my dentist there, Dr Paul Stamati.  He is very pleasant, skillful and gentle.  Can't ask for better than that!

  I have been seeing George Karagiannis for many years and he is very professional yet friendly, thoughtful, thorough and works through the best options for his patients. He is punctual and he and his admin and dental assistant are friendly and supportive.

Today he clearly explained the procedure (filling replacement) prior to starting, and what to expect and how to care for the area worked on after the procedure. Very clean environment.
